Cedar Wood Oil
  • Cedarwood chips and sawdust are subjected to steam distillation to extract the oil and the yield is about 35%. Juniperus virginiana wood oil has a history of use by the Egyptian for mummification.

  • The main chemicals are Cedrol, Cedrene, Cadinene and Cedrenol.

  • Cedar wood oil is used in medications and cosmetics for oily skin, hair and dandruff. Oil is also effective for chest, urinary infections, arthritis, rheumatism

Flaxseed Oil
  • Oil of Linum usitatissimum is a yellowish, oily liquid, having a peculiar odor and a bland taste. When exposed to the air, it gradually thickens, darkens in color, and acquires a strong odor and taste.

  • Mankind has used Flax for over 7,000 years to make paper, string and clothe and to improve the health. Linseed oil has recently been used as a diluents in paints and coatings.

  • Flaxseed oil used as tea or pills treat arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, constipation, cough, eczema, female disorders, gallstones, hemorrhoids, pleurisy, pneumonia and sore throats. It is also used as a laxative.

Peppermint Oil
  • Peppermint oil is steam distillation from the leaves and flowering tops of Mentha piperita of fresh or partly dried plant which yields 0.1-1.0%. Mint oil has a sharp menthol aroma. The color of mint oil is pale yellow or greenish.

  • The main chemical components are Menthol, Menthyl acetate, Carvone, Menthone, Carvacrol and Limonene.

  • Mint oil is widely used as flavoring agent in the food, bakery and confectionary industry.

  • Mint oil is a warming oil, so relieve painful muscle spasms and arthritic conditions and excellent for mental fatigue and depression. It is also used as medicine for many therapeutic purposes.

Spearmint Oil
  • Spearmint oil is extracted by steam distillation from Mentha spicata flowering tops. The oil has a fresh minty menthol aroma that is less bright than peppermint and has pale yellow to greenish color.

  • The active principal of spearmint oil is Cavone which is about 60% of total ketons present.

  • Confectionery, Mouth fresheners, Chocolates, Chewing Gums, Cough Drops Analgesic, Balms, Inhalers, Tobacco Products, Medicated Oils, Toothpaste, Cosmetics.

Nutmeg Oil
  • The Nutmeg resembles a small peach and the oil is obtained from the kernel of the dried seeds by steam distillations from Myristica fragrans. Nutmeg oil is clear in color and has a rich spicy- sweet aroma.

  • Among a variety of chemicals present in nutmeg oil; Sabinene or Camphene and Pinene as the major constituents comprise about 50% of the essential oil:

  • Nutmeg oil has been used as a natural flavoring extract and as a perfume in the cosmetic industries, flavors baked goods, beverages, candies, meats and syrups.

Holy Basil Oil
  • Ocimum Sanctum leaves and seeds are used for extraction of /basil oil through stream distillation process. Basil oil has a clear color, thin consistency and a sweet, herbaceous, licorice-like, slightly camphorous.

  • Linalol, Fenchol, Eugenol, Methyl chavicol, Beta-caryophyllene are the active components present in basil oil.

  • Basil oil has been used over the centurary as medicated oils and ointments for respiratory infections especially for children.

  • Basil oil is used in flavoring, cosmetics, soap, and perfumery.

Pongam Oil
  • Pongamia glabra seeds are crushed for oil. Crude pongam oil has a yellowish orange to brown color which darkens on storage. It possesses a disagreeable odor and a bitter taste.

  • Karanjin is the major active principle responsible for curative effect of the oil in skin diseases. The non fatty components of the oil include karanjin and pongamol. Karanjin slowly separates from the oil on standing; Yields of up to 1.25% of Karanjin and 0.85% of pongamol have been obtained from the oil.

  • Pongam oil possesses insecticidal and antibacterial properties. The seed oil is the most useful commercial product used as a diesel substitute, leather dressing, soap making, lubrication, candle preparation, illumination, and for medicinal purposes.
